About
Hi! I am currently pursing my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. I hold a Masters in Interdisciplinary Data Science from Duke and Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, India.
I am passionate about transforming data into insights, provide innovative solutions to solve complex real-world problems, build productive collaborations and lead by example. I am extremely interested in working in the intersection of Healthcare and Machine Learning (HealthAI).
My research aims to help doctors by developing quick, accurate, and explainable AI systems that aid in diagnosing and triaging traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. Along with building innovative machine learning architectures, we also aim to focus on the Human-AI Collaboration, specifically the Doctor-AI Collaboration.
This involves working very closely with doctors to understand the design aspects and providing them with a useful system that integrates well with current hospital ecosystems. Our strong partnerships with top neurosurgeons and neuro-radiologists at Duke University help in making this project a reality.
We create AI architectures that focus on integrating different types of patient data, consisting of brain CT scans, radiology reports, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) to diagnose and triage patients effectively. Another significant by-product of our project is curating the world's largest Multi-label Head Trauma CT dataset with over 65,000 CT Scans, labelled with over 20 different types of brain injuries.

Musical Journey
Born and brought up in Boston, USA, I started learning violin from Vid. Smt. Tara Anand at the young age of 8. In 2009, after relocating to Bangalore, I began learning from Vid. Smt. Lalgudi Rajalakshmi followed by Vid. Sri Yashasvi and currently under the tutelage of Legendary Padmasri A. Kanyakumari. Along with my brother Tejas Manjunath, known as Boston Brothers, have performed over 450 violin duet concerts extensively in India, USA, and Singapore, and had the honor to share the stage with our teacher Vid. A. Kanyakumari. We have won several accolades such as 1st place Violin Duet at Sangeeth Samraat (Chennai) reality show on Sankara TV, 1st prize Pratibhakankshi award, Nada Chintamani and many more. We had the honor to perform at the prestigious Rama Seva Mandali – Fort High School, Chennai December Music Season (Brahma Gana Sabha, Carnatica USA and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha) Bangalore Ganesh Utsava, Alvas Nudisiri, Karavali Utsava, Puttaparthi- Prashanti Nilayam, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Gayana Samaja, Shanmukhananda Hall- Bombay and many more.
